change-warnings -adjust-warnings If -change-section-address or -change-section-lma or -change-section-vma is used, and the named section does not exist, issue awarning. this generates a file that the gnu binutils thinks is perfect. I installed the gnu binutils version (brew install binutils). If section does not exist in the input file, a warning will be issued, unless -no-change-warnings is used. I have been looking for objcopy as I need to rename some functions in a precompiled library. See the comments under -change-addresses,above. Otherwise, val is added to or subtracted from the section address. If = is used, the sectionaddress is set to val. Normally this is the same as the LMA address, which is the address where the section will be loaded intomemory, but on some systems, especially those where a program is held in ROM, the two can be different. The devices UART peripheral is most often connected to a UART to USB interface IC, which appears as a traditional COM port on the host PC/ laptop. The VMA address is the address where the section will be locatedonce the program has started executing. A serial terminal is an application that runs on a PC or laptop that is used to display data and interact with a connected device (including many of the Circuits from the Lab reference designs). Objcopy [ -change-section-address section val Set or change the VMA address of the named section.
